About Mortification of Spin

Carl Trueman is a speaker on the Mortification of Spin podcast, professor of Church History at Westminster Theological Seminary, and pastor of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. He has an M.A. in Classics from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in Church History from the University of Aberdeen. He is editor of the IFES journal, Themelios, and has taught on the faculties of theology at both the University of Nottingham and the University of Aberdeen. He has authored a number of books, including The Claims of Truth: John Owen’s Trinitarian Theology and The Wages of Spin: Critical Writings on Historic and Contemporary Evangelicalism. He lives in Oreland, a suburb of Philadelphia, with his wife, Catriona, and his two sons, John and Peter.

Todd Pruitt is a speaker on the Mortification of Spin podcast. A native of Houston, Texas, Todd served as youth pastor in churches in Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania. In 2013 he was called to be the pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Harrisonburg, VA. He is a graduate of Southwest Baptist University and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Todd and his wife, Karen, have been married since 1990 and have three children: Kate, Ryan, and Matthew.



Aimee Byrd, the newest on the Mortification of Spin, was raised Southern Baptist church growing up with strong teaching on the inerrancy of God’s Word.  She’s a member of Pilgrim Presbyterian Church (PCA), author of Housewife Theologian (P&R, 2013) and Theological Fitness (P&R, 2014), and runs the blog Housewife Theologian. Aimee is the bride of Christ, wife of Matt, and mother of three.
